After some last eleventh hour additions to the roster, the Pacific Premier Bank Cycling Team is ready to roll into the 2019 racing season.
Joining the team just after the new year, new additions James Hilyer and Kyle Stoffan-Thornton promise to provide some extra punch to the line-up. Coming off a win at the Collegiate Track Nationals last October, Hilyer adds yet another trackie to the mix joining current team members and fellow velodrome rats Omar Aguilera, Ian Holt, and Noah Schlosser.
The new tandem of Hilyer and Stoffan-Thornton are slated to race alongside Omar Aguilera (Mexico Youth National Champion), and brother Reyes Aguilera (Baja California State Champion) at the upcoming Redlands Classic, the Tour de Murrieta and the San Dimas Stage race during the busy month of March.
Kicking off their season with the Valley of the Sun Stage Race in Phoenix Arizona February 15-17, returning riders Kory Cook, Anthony Fitch and John Garbo will round out the team at the squad’s first multi-day event.
Racing for the first time with the team, 2018 Green Valley Stage Race champion Barry Miller will join the squad at the Redlands Classic March 13-17th. Often referred to as the race “where champions are born” the Redlands Classic will also offer the team the opportunity to welcome up-and-coming riders John Jantz, Vitor Zucco and Gabe Mendez.
Representing the team for the 5th consecutive year, El Salvadorian climber Ivan Rivas will also once again be flying the team colors in 2019, joining the team at selected races throughout the season.
